Sign up to “Step Ahead”
Franklin General Hospital is pleased to announce a new exercise program for individuals with certain health concerns. The Step Ahead program is an extension of the cardiac rehab program, created to provide a non-threatening exercise program with supervision for individuals who have a variety of health conditions, such as diabetes, peripheral vascular disease, and congestive heart failure, among other cardiac risk factors.
The Step Ahead program offers treadmills, bicycles, stepping machines, and other stationary equipment. Besides exercise, participants enjoy each other’s support and the security of knowing qualified professionals are on hand to ensure their safety. Step Ahead is available at a cost of $50 for 12 sessions, which must be paid in advance and will not be submitted to insurance. The program is different from other exercise programs in that qualified staff are available to answer questions and monitor blood pressures. A referral from a physician will be required prior to registering for the program.
